BCM - How did your life change when you became a mom?
Eileen: I was pretty organized before I became a mom, but it takes the term multi tasking to a new level! I also realized what a profound responsibility I had on my 3 kids lives. Everyone talks about how their relationship with their mom effects their life, so I try to teach them by example and share life lessons my mom taught me, to them.
BCM - What has been your most memorable moment (s) as a mom?
Eileen: When they were babies, it was just the smell of their sweet breath after they fell asleep nursing. As they got older, I spoke to my girls classes on career day at school and one of the most memorable moments is when my girls looked at me after speaking and said, "You did a great job mom. Everyone at school thinks you have a really cool job and so do I". It makes being a working mom all worth it. :)
BCM - What has been the biggest challenge for you in motherhood. Any advice for new moms?
Eileen: One of the biggest challenges for me is giving each child special ALONE time with mom. With 3 kids, I try to do things all together, which is nice, but sometimes it's important to have that special time with each child. That's when you learn all the delicious intimate thoughts and feelings of each child.
BCM - How do you manage your work life balance?
Eileen: I manage my work life balance with a great support team. I have a terrific job partner at work, a hard working nanny, a very helpful mother in law and a husband who really cares about being a great father. When we all work together, it's a great balance to the whole family!
BCM - What types of activities do you like to do w/ your kids?
Eileen: I love to do activities that the kids will remember as they grow up. We love to spend time at our cabana at the beach, day trips to amusement parks or the aquarium. Last summer I went camping with my girls at the Girl Scout camp in the Hamptons and we had such a blast, roasting smores, singing camp fire songs and watching the wild turkeys pass by.
BCM- What has been your favorite Big City Moms event to date?
Eileen: I would have to say the amazing Mother's Day luncheon for Jo Frost's Confident Baby Care at Tavern on the Green. It was such a well attended event and everyone learned a little something from the Super Nanny herself. The swag bag was absolutely great too!
