BCM - How did your life change when you became a mom?
Jennifer - My Life changed in the sense that I knew I was given 3 amazing children and it was my job to give them this life that was full of creativity and adventure. I am so fortunate to have 3 happy and healthy children and they give me all I need to wake up every morning and think.. What is on tap today? I love this side of me and it shows in how creative they are now. We have as much fun exploring as we do staying home building forts and doing fun projects. My children are my life and I feel like the luckiest person around. I have always worked with my children. They used to come to my stores and play as I did sales. I am starting a blog that will be about how a mom can work and have their kids with them. It will show all our adventures!
BCM - What has been your most memorable moment (s) as a mom?
Jennifer - For sure the answer to this is when we packed up our lives in Virginia and we moved to New York. For fifteen years I dreamed of being back and circumstances happened that I was able to move home. My children helped me pack a Box truck and we drove it to New York. Through the whole trip they had wide-open eyes of a new life ahead of us. It made me so proud to be their mom because I knew they trusted me in my decision and they looked forward to our new journey. In the end of the day they now have an amazing life and a whole new state to explore !
BCM - What has been the biggest challenge for you in motherhood. Any advice for new moms?
Jennifer - Well I learned more and more after each child was born. For the first child you are so nervous and by the third, You think you could make it with ten kids. My biggest challenge though would have to be, The guilt you feel when you don't have enough time for everyone. I give each child special alone days with mom and they love it. And each one has had a special weekend with me and created memories that they will have forever. I am a single mom so that is always a challenge, but life is what you make of it!
BCM- You have the coolest job - a candy buffet business: Just Sweets - what inspired you to launch it?
Jennifer - I am an entrepreneur by nature and always thinking of new business ideas. In Virginia I owned a Bellini Baby Furniture store and a UPS store. When I moved home I wanted a business that allowed me to work around my kids, I had always dreamed about doing some type of gift delivery business. I saw a candy buffet table in a magazine and I was hooked. It allows me to share my creative side and make an event have a WOW factor at the very end. As guests are feeling they don't want the party to end my tables come out and all you hear are Ooh's and Aah's. I love it! I am also expanding my website and my online store where you can build a candy vessel of your choice and have it delivered. In addition, I do party favors and centerpieces and have a fun new category called Candy Buffet On The Go! I will ship the whole candy buffet anywhere in the United States. I'm involved in other businesses now but there is something about candy that rocks my world.
BCM- What's your favorite sweet?
Jennifer -This is a hard question for me as I would rather eat dessert than dinner any day of the week. But if I had to choose my favorites I would say: Dessert - Creme Brulee , Candy- Bit O'Honey's, Chocolate Bar- Babe Ruth's, Licorice- Chocolate of course.
BCM - What types of activities do you like to do w/ your kids?
Jennifer -This is my favorite question. I am all about activities with my kids and the list can go on and on. But first and foremost it would be the beach. We also mix it up with bike rides, walks, finding fun restaurants to try out, parks, any kind of fruit picking, fairs and carnivals and sometimes just hanging out at home, even though every single toy comes out of the house or garage. It allows me to sit and listen to their cute little voices and hear them interact with each other. I LOVE that. I am an avid cook and own every kind of gadget. My kids are my right hand in the kitchen. Baking cupcakes though is their favorite .
BCM- What has been your favorite Big City Moms event to date?

The night was perfect. The guests were all beaming and the vendors were all very excited to be a part of it - MAGICAL !!!
