BCM - How did your life change when you became a mom?
Tara - My fairytale came true. I learned to enjoy and appreciate every moment more.

BCM - What has been your most memorable moment (s) as a mom?
Tara - I would say it was the day he was born, but it was actually before that. He had been tugging on my heartstrings since I found out I was pregnant. My first ultrasound with him was especially memorable. John Lennon’s “Imagine” was playing in the room just as his image appeared on the screen and I started to cry.

BCM - What has been the biggest challenge for you in motherhood.  Any advice for new moms?
Tara - My biggest challenge was learning to manage my time more efficiently...and fit in extra time for the unexpected. As a mom you have to let the unplanned incidents roll off of your back. There is always an obstacle course—you just have to learn how best to maneuver it. My advice would be to add 15-30 minutes into your schedule for impromptu diaper changes...or meltdowns.

BCM - How do you manage your work life balance?
Tara - By the skin of my teeth. Ha, Ha. I finally feel as though I have it all under control—22 months into motherhood. I make sure to turn off my blackberry and phone when I’m with my son, so that we can enjoy each other’s company.

BCM - What types of activities do you like to do w/ your son?
Tara - We love to visit museums all year round, and spend all of our time outdoors in the spring and summer at zoos, parks and beaches. He loves to learn and explore.

Tara -Reality shows, in particular The Real Housewives series... I can't help it!

My biggest influence is…

Tara - My mom. She's always been such an amazing and supportive mother and friend.  I want to learn from her and hope to follow her footsteps

My favorite drugstore buy is...

Tara - Yes to Blueberries Eye Firming Treatment. It smells amazing—and helps me look as though I’ve had a good night’s sleep, even if I haven’t.

Products I can’t live without... 

Tara -Diptyque fragrances and all things J. Crew. My wardrobe wouldn’t survive without J. Crew!

My guilty pleasure is...

Tara - Crumbs red velvet cupcakes—oversized, of course.

Tara - The Standard Grill—The best cheeseburgers and pickles in town!
