By now you can see that we love ZESPRI™ Kiwifruit for its convenient package of kid-friendly flavor and nutrition. For more details on what makes kiwifruit such a nutrition superstar, read on.

Kiwifruit is a SuperFood * and brings a triple threat of nutrition.

A two-piece serving of kiwi has:

  • Twice the vitamin C of an orange
  • As much potassium as a banana
  • As much fiber as many whole grain cereals (4 grams of fiber per serving for GREEN and 2 grams of fiber per serving for GOLD)
  • Only 100 calories

Check out ZESPRI™ Nutrition Facts labels for GREEN and GOLD Kiwifruit:

Kiwifruit packs nutrients tight, bite for bite. Kiwifruit provides a healthy, satisfying and delicious option for people of all ages, including moms and kids. Packed with vitamins, fiber and antioxidants, kiwifruit offers big nutrition with each bite. Kiwifruit’s “bite-for-bite” nutrient density makes it perfect for young children, who don’t eat large quantities of any one food and the soft texture also gives it an added bonus when feeding young ones.

A study conducted at Rutgers University** found kiwifruit to be the most nutrient dense of 27 of the most popular fruits, followed by, papaya, cantaloupe and strawberry. On the basis of cost in calories per nutrient, kiwifruit has the fifth lowest caloric cost behind lemon and strawberry, cantaloupe and papaya. Also in terms of calories per nutrient, kiwifruit shares a top rating for low sodium, high potassium fruit with papaya, apricot and banana.

On an individual food basis, kiwifruit had the highest density for vitamin C; whereas avocado, kiwifruit and banana led for magnesium compared to other fruits. Avocado, banana and kiwifruit are leading sources for potassium. Kiwifruit was also found to be one of the few low fat sources of vitamin E.

You don’t have to be a health expert to see that kiwifruit offers a nutrient-packed treat for families.
