BCM - How did your life change when you became a mom?

Rosie:  I have become a great multi-tasker and constantly shock myself at how many things I can get done at once!  And no matter how many times people tell you this; it is absolutely amazing how much you can love this one little bundle of joy.

BCM- What has been your most memorable moment (s) as a mom?

Rosie:  The first time my son actually laughed.  I still haven’t figured out why he finds me so funny but I love it.

BCM- What has been the biggest challenge for you in motherhood?

Rosie: Being able to go back to work and not feeling guilty.

BCM - What inspired you to start your business - Rosie Pope Maternity ?

Rosie:  I was sitting in a lab at Columbia studying neuroscience and finding myself designing clothes for my pregnant friends who were exacerbated that they couldn’t find any nice ones to wear.  Some how I got from there to here and now have a boutique in  Soho….which I like to think of as a mini country club for pregnant ladies.

BCM - How do you manage your career while being a mother and a wife? Any advice for moms?

Rosie:  I have learned not to mix the two.  When I am with my son I do not work and vice-verse.  Trying to do both at once only leaves every one feeling really unsatisfied.

BCM - What types of activities do you like to do w/ your kids?

Rosie:   My son loves to be outside so I often find myself putting him in the ever faithful baby Bjorn and walking around town to find something new for him to look at….the more lights and sounds the better!

BCM- What are your favorite Mom Essentials and why?

Rosie:My Medela Microwave sterilizing steamers….I have not idea what I’d do with out them.  Also, the “snap-and-go” stroller has proves fantastic for travel, feeding, sleeping, walking…pretty much everything you can think of.  My son is almost too big for it and I have no idea what we’ll do then!

BCM- If you could give another mom or expectant mom one piece of advice, what would it be?

Rosie: It gets better every single day if you can believe it.  So if you have a bad one, don’t fret waking up tomorrow and seeing your baby smile will make each day the best you’ve ever had…trust me on this one.

BCM - Which BCM event was your favorite?

Rosie:  The Biggest Baby Shower Ever.
