BCM - How did your life change when you became a mom?
Elizabeth -
I became much more organized. I also became a more loving person.
BCM- What has been your most memorable moment as a mom?
Elizabeth -Seeing Morgan gaze at my husband just after she was born. It was a beautiful day and we were in a hospital room on 5th Avenue, with a view of the park.
BCM- What has been the biggest challenge for you in motherhood?
Elizabeth -Being 100% in the moment when I am with my children.
BCM- What activities do you like to do with your kids and why?
Elizabeth - I love to take them to the playgrounds in Central Park so that we can all get exercise and work on manners
when playing with others. We also enjoy the many activities available in the City through organizations like
Big City Moms.
Skiing is our favorite family activity (I used to be an
instructor in Vail). Morgan was able to ski with me for the first time last winter, which was a big moment!
BCM- How do you maintain your sense of style while juggling a business and children?
Elizabeth -My office is in midtown, very close to Saks and other stores. There are also many sample sales in New York, and having friends in fashion helps!
BCM- What are your favorite “Mom Essentials” and why?
Elizabeth -Less seems to be best when it comes to Mom Essentials. I always carry lip gloss, sunscreen,
cash for snacks, diapers, a few sippy cups and of course, a change of clothing.
BCM- What is the best advice you received about being a mom?
Elizabeth -Save your "nos" for emergency situations.
BCM- If you could give another mom or expectant mom one piece of advice, what would it be?
Elizabeth -Take advantage of the many classes in the City (Mommy and me Yoga, Little Maestros) and
spend a lot of time with a prospective care giver before hiring her (or him) and going back to work.
BCM- Do you have a motto you would like to share with other moms?
Elizabeth -"Be your own guide"
BCM- Name your favorite Big City Moms event to date..
Elizabeth -The after work kids party at New York Kids Club. We also enjoyed the holiday party at FAO Schwarz.
