BCM - How did your life change when you became a mom?
Vida - I think the easier answer is how has my life NOT changed! Seriously, though, the two most noticeable changes are that I'm super emotional now (I can't seem to watch certain movies or even daily news because I get easily disturbed and I seem to cry a lot - even during commercials!) and I've also become more paranoid. I'm very careful of what I do and what I say as I'm now concerned that as a consequence of one of my direct actions something could affect my kids. I suppose this is also a result of knowing that there are too many nutty people in this world.
BCM - What has been your most memorable moment (s) as a mom?
Vida -You mean all those moments where I get to cuddle with my kids in bed because it makes ME feel better (and I know all is good in this world)? Or those precious moments where my heart melts when I witness my kids hug and kiss each other and tell one other 'I love you?' Memorable as in all the times I get to hear my kids say, I love you Mommy, even if it's for the hundredth time...in one day? Hmm, I really can't think of any right now. I'll have to get back to you on this question.
BCM - What has been the biggest challenge for you in motherhood. Any advice for new moms?
Vida -The fact that my husband and I are solely responsible for the growth and development of our children is nerve-wracking. At any given time, any of our decisions may affect them in the long-term and that is something I struggle with every day. It's tough in this world and always questioning if we're doing the right thing is pretty stressful. I've come across advice that says I should trust myself, but sometimes it's a difficult thing to do. Another huge challenge for me is ensuring that each of my children all feel equally loved. As much as my husband and I try to spend alone time with each of the three kids, sometimes it just doesn't feel like it's enough. Advice? Well, I don't have any advice regarding my "biggest challenge" as that's something I still struggle with. But I would like to let new moms know that babies do projectile poop - so beware of those late night/early morning diaper changes! Also, it really is OK to let your baby cry it out. I know sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming with all the crying and screaming but before you lose your mind and do or say something you might not really intend to, walk away for a minute or two.
BCM - You stay home with your kids, but you also work with companies on branding strategies and product placement. How do you manage your time effectively?
Vida -There are always sacrifices to be made. In my case, I give up some of life's little luxuries like TV and sleep! I also get my kids involved as best I can and talk to them about what I do. Hearing about my work gets them excited (they think I talk to Juno quite often!) So during homework time, I get to sneak in a little bit mom's "homework", as well.
BCM - What types of activities do you like to do w/ your kids?
Vida -Despite having a million and one options for activities in the city, my all time favorite is still taking my kids to the park. They are most free to be kids when they are open to run around and do as they please without much restriction. Over the years, I've loved seeing them grow out of their fears as they whiz down slides and climb on the big kid's monkey bars. I also enjoy watching my children socialize with other kids - this is a big part of their growth that I miss out on when they are in school.

FUN FACTS:
I’m totally obsessed with…
Vida - anything tokidoki.
My biggest influence is…
Vida - my father. Growing up, my siblings and I rarely got to see my dad as he was working 14-15 hours a day, 6 days a week to support us. But I do not recall once ever where he complained of needing time for himself. His one day off was always spent with the family (even if it was doing yardwork - but at least we were doing it together!) I never realized how much of a sacrifice he was making for his children and how much of it was driven by love until I had my own.
My favorite drugstore buy is..
Vida - Olay Definity Color Recapture Moisturizer! I am not a make-up person so this product is great for some light coverage and it also has SPF!
Products I can’t live without...
Vida -Stila Lip Glaze/Gloss, Thermos Backpack Hydration Bottle (perfect for both winter and summer outings w/ the kids), Resolve Carpet Cleaner, Crayola's washable crayons/markers, yoga/sweat pants - just to name a few random things.
My guilty pleasure is...
Vida - Coffee ice cream. Mainly Haagen Daz, but I'm a nice person and don't discriminate against other brands!
Favorite restaurant….
Vida -This is totally the saddest thing to say, but I don't go out to eat enough to have a favorite. Though I can tell you my favorite foods are anything soup noodles and sushi! One of my favorite places to get take-out, however, is Nicky's Vietnamese Sandwiches (Downtown, East Village & Brooklyn). They're a family-owned restaurant (which I love supporting) and have the tastiest and freshest banh mi sandwiches that don't weigh you down. The location in Brooklyn also has this kick-butt Pork Chop/Vermicelli dish that I like to order...a couple at a time.
