Children 7-12 years old will be fed a complete dinner, as well,
throughout the class as they go over and discuss:
• How to properly set a table
• How to butter a roll
• The polite way to eat soup
• The proper way to cut grilled chicken
• How to make and acknowledge introductions
• How to give a proper handshake
• How to make conversation
• The proper posture, poise, walking and standing
• How to properly use the napkin and utensils
• How to be served and serve yourself
• What to do when you drop silverware
• Reaching and other taboos
• Commenting on the meal
Parents or caregivers can RSVP for a Mad Hatter dinner service in our
main dining room at a communal table with other parents &/or
caregivers (a “get to know you” opportunity for the people who deserve
it!) while the class is conducted in an adjacent room. $65 per child, ages 7-12 years old ($25 per parent/guardian staying for dinner) Sara Gorfinkle is a recognized etiquette authority, seminar leader and designer of innovative training
workshops in social and business manners. She also is noted for her good manners workshops for
children, ages 7 through teens. She has presented manners workshops at New York City private
schools and through her Manners House Call Series. She has been featured on the NBC Today Show,
with Joan Hamburg on radio station WOR, and was Etiquette Consultant to The Plaza Hotel.
