ELAHI YOGA
Elahi Yoga is a great new yoga program designed and taught specifically for kids! Classes invoke children's imagination and bring a level of non-competitive, creative fun into their exercise routines. Music, art, storytelling, and fun games are incorporated into the class to teach kids the art of yoga in fun and educational ways. All classes are age appropriate, and contain different elements of yoga that will inspire students mentally and physically. Join us for a lifetime of fitness, fun, and feeling great!
At the Elahi Yoga studio, kids are able to play, work their imaginations, and also relax. Our non-competitive atmosphere allows children to express themselves differently from other activities throughout their week. ------------------------------------------------------------------
Elahi Yoga was founded in 2009 to bring children and their families together to expand the boundaries of their minds and bodies. Located in the upper east side of Manhattan, the Elahi Yoga studio works as a hub for active children within our community to come and learn. Our classes are inspired by nature and children game. Each lesson is age/level appropriate so that children feel confident in their ability to learn and stretch into new poses while strengthening their minds in a non-competitive environment.
Lotus Buds: ages Walking-3 yrs
Playful and fun, young children with a parent or caregiver, lay the foundation for yoga with animal yoga poses, songs, stories, and games that help develop positive life skills.
Leaflets: ages 4-7yrs
These fun and engaging classes explore yoga poses, cooperative games, breathing and relaxation exercises and convey lessons in self-expression, body-awareness, and social skills. Non-competitive and fun, students develop strength, flexibility, concentration and confidence.
Junior Lotus: ages 7-10yrs
Kids lengthen and strengthen their bodies with flowing sequences, balancing poses, breathing exercises, and simple relaxation techniques. Along with partner poses and fun yoga activities that build trust and positive communication.
Rising Mountains: Special Needs up to age 5yrs
Elahi Yoga's newest class has gentle and therapeutic exercises that focus on the natural development of children with special needs. Children with developmental or learning disabilities practice a series of balanced yoga poses and stretches that address asymmetry, mobility and visualization. The class encourages body movement, awareness, strength and flexibility in a fun and playful yoga experience.
Water Gardens Story Time Yoga: up to age 5
Children will learn and practice movement through stories, poetry, and song. Yoga is incorporated through story telling to stimulate the mind and body in a healthy imaginative way.
