From the moment you find out you are pregnant, it’s hard not to be glued to the daily and weekly updates from apps, websites and books revealing the next big thing taking place in the development of your little one. And as any mom knows, it doesn’t stop once your baby is born.
As a mom of a 30 month old and 7 month old it’s fun to look for tools or articles to educate me about the next milestone. Take a screenshot of my most frequent searches and you’ll find I’m not looking up the latest fashions. It’s all about my kids. My son hit a huge growth spurt recently and started crawling and teething within the past few weeks. As soon as that little tooth started to make it’s way to the top, I dove deep into the trenches, reading anything related to teething and how to help my little one. And now that he’s on the move, I’ve sifted through his toys trying to determine which ones are age and ability appropriate. My vetting system is not fancy by any means. It’s a guessing game at best. That’s why I have been so grateful to learn about The Play Gym by Lovevery. It’s the perfect combination of a creative and thoughtful play product for my kids with a step by step manual to help me know how to confidently engage in play.
Designed by child development experts The Play Gym by Lovevery is an innovative play space designed with your baby in mind from ages 0-12 months. To be honest, as I was unboxing the pieces I had to remind myself I was opening something for my kids and not myself. Putting it together was a breeze and my son and I were on the floor exploring in under 10 minutes. I liked the use of color, pattern and natural wood and the larger size was perfect for my little adventurer because most play mats I’ve used he easily rolls right off and I have to keep putting him back on.
Armed with my stage-based play guide, we set out to explore the gym and I immediately felt two things, confidence and joy. Confidence because the Lovevery team had done all the research. And joy because I held in my hands an expertly designed manual of innovative ways to connect with my son that would teach him new things. I felt armed and educated. What would he learn today?
How many times have you unpacked a toy only to run out of ideas of how to play after a few minutes? With a space for picture cards, a rattle, removable teether and ball, each day we would come back to The Play Gym and do a little something different. My daughter also joined in the fun when I attached the cozy play fort which absolutely melted my heart. Seeing them playing together in the fort while she pointed out the colors and pictures was priceless.
The first play gym of its kind designed to tailor stimulation based on age provides a full year of play and activities making it our new family favorite and my first recommendation for new moms.
