Archived: Bake It Happen for Breast Cancer Awareness

Looking for a sweet way to give back this October? Consider BAKE IT HAPPEN!  Created by the woman behind the rolling pin at celebrated food blog Shari Brooks, along with her sister, this sweet initiative in honor of their mom Judy is dedicated to breast cancer research.

The premise is simple, fun — and delicious! Here is how to BAKE IT HAPPEN:

Head over to Bake It Happen and sign up to receive one of Judy’s famous recipes: Pumpkin Brownies, Earthquake Cookies and Black Bottom Cupcakes (pictured below). Then, get baking! Put one of the Bake It Happen logos on the packaging, and share your tasty goods with everyone, everywhere!

Next, share it! Snap a photo of your Bake it Happen experience (you baking it, your kids baking it, your friends enjoying it, you get it) and upload to the Bake It Happen Facebook page or tag your own post to #bakeithappen. Not on social media? Email your picture to

For each Bake it Happen treat that’s made and shared, the campaign will donate 100% of the monies raised to breast cancer research through their partner, The Pink Pumpkin Patch Foundation.

The sweet surprise? You’ll also be automatically entered to win a brand new iPad and a yummy three-month mini-of-the-month membership from Baked by Melissa.
