Last year I stumbled upon a hidden gem of a candy store on top of the Cynthia Rowley store on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. I instantly fell in love with the store. The look and feel of the space is magical.
Sami’s actual Birthday fell on Labor Day this year and was an extremely busy time for our family rushing around and getting ready for the first week of School followed by a business trip, so I wanted to throw her a small party with a few friends that was little to no work on my end.
Well, I think that was accomplished when I booked her party at Curious Candy. The space itself is so pretty that the surroundings set the perfect background for a sweet celebration. The walls are lined with beautiful candy displays and glittery accessories.
When the girls arrived there were cookie houses at their place setting waiting to be decorated. Just about every kind of candy was available for them to turn their plain cookie house into a sweet treasure for them to take home.
In between crafting their dream house the girls got their faces painted by the most talented face painter I think I’ve ever met.
In order to turnover the room for dinner , we distracted the girls with a chance at the Piñata. The staff set up the activity in the courtyard, which is such a beautiful setting with all the twinkling lights. The girls had a blast.
The Birthday Cake was a simple cake from Magnolia Bakery. It was so yummy – Sami LOVED the fact that it was blue, her favorite color.
The Staff at Curious Candy took care of everything! The food, crafts, party favors, cake etc.…they were so easy to work with. It’s not easy putting up with 15 sassy 6 year olds and they did a fantastic job. And to quote Sami “This was the best day of my entire life”!
