A Chat with Supermom Shalene Razak, Founder & Owner of JR Unlimited

After becoming a parent in 2017, Shalene Razak was compelled to create safe, high-quality baby products at a reasonable price. She launched JR Unlimited, which currently features a line of adorable organic bamboo swaddles. Shalene shared some surprising fun facts about the benefits of bamboo–  and her plans to unveil new product lines in the future.

Congratulations on launching JR Unlimited! What motivated you to start your own company?

After becoming parents for the first time, we wanted to provide the best life possible for our son, by giving him a life of happiness and the freedom to dream and explore life without limitations.

Our son is the inspiration behind JR Unlimited baby products. We designed our products to be environmentally friendly, free from harmful substances, and of the highest quality. We provide this by keeping our baby— and yours—in mind.

What was the most surprising thing you learned as you created an environmentally friendly baby swaddle?

The most surprising things I learned was that:

  1. Bamboo is considered to be the fastest growing grass.
  2. How soft 100% bamboo fabric is…
  3. … and that it gets softer with every wash!
  4. Bamboo can regrow even in an area where the soil has been damaged by fire.

What’s next for JR Unlimited?

We plan to grow our product line by creating new collections with more bamboo products. In the future, you’ll see bibs, mittens, caps, onesies and more swaddle blankets with different designs.
